About

Who is Benji Reinhardt?
My name is Benjamin Reinhardt, born 1989 in southern Germany and now based in the Munich area.
My journey with film photography – and for the most part photography in general – started around the year of 2017. Back then I went out with a borrowed Canon AE-1 Program and took my first baby steps to learn the basics. By then it was already apparent that film will be the medium of choice.
Getting more serious in 2018 about my work, I invested in a dedicated film scanner and started developing black and white film at home. Infected with the G.A.S. (Gear Aquisition Syndrome) I also started collecting a few more cameras than actually needed.
The first homemade darkroom prints followed in 2020 and and later that year I decided to concentrate mostly on black and white photography. Since then I only occasionally shoot anything in color.
As recently as 2022 I invested in a 4×5 large format camera, just to find out that there is so much more to learn with photography.
Through all this I found my place and what I enjoy shooting the most: landscapes and minimalism. Much to my surprise I do also enjoy shooting portraits every once in a while.
As a day job I work in the aviation industry. For now photography is merely a passionate and exciting hobby.
